Swedish Deputy Director General Hans-Christian Hagman visits I-AIIG

On the morning of May 22, 2026, Hans-Christian Hagman, Chief Analyst and Senior Adviser at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, led a delegation to the Institute for AI International Governance (I-AIIG) at Tsinghua University. The delegation included Mattias Chu (Head of Political Section/Political Counsellor at the Embassy of Sweden in Beijing), Daniel Ekström (Innovation and Science Counsellor), and Erik Lindner Olsson (First Secretary for Economic and Trade Affairs). Liu Chang, Foreign Affairs Coordinator at I-AIIG, welcomed the delegation and briefed them on I-AIIG’s work.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on AI development in China, international AI cooperation mechanisms, and global AI risk perception and governance frameworks.
