On April 23, 2026, a Brazilian higher education delegation led by Ruy Guerios, CEO of Centro Universitário de Excelência ENIAC, visited the Institute for AI International Governance (I-AIIG) at Tsinghua University. Liang Zheng, Vice Dean of I-AIIG; Li Yifan, Assistant Secretary-General of the Global MOOC and Online Education Alliance; Hao Zhanxin, Assistant Research Fellow at the Institute of Education; and members of the international affairs team attended the meeting. Liang welcomed the delegation and provided an overview of I-AIIG’s work.

During the exchange, Li Yifan outlined Tsinghua’s latest efforts to advance online education and foster international collaboration through global digital learning platforms. Hao Zhanxin also introduced her research on agent-mediated classrooms, demonstrating how multi-agent systems can enhance interaction and improve learning outcomes.
Subsequent discussions centered on the transformative role of AI in higher education and international cooperation. The participants explored how it can improve teaching efficiency, enable personalized learning, and expand access to high-quality educational resources, while also addressing challenges such as overreliance on technology and evolving pedagogical boundaries. Hao Zhanxin noted, “AI is not only a technological tool, but a catalyst for rethinking how we teach and learn across borders.”

Both sides exchanged views on Tsinghua’s broader initiatives in AI-enabled education, including virtual laboratories, interdisciplinary knowledge engines, and AI literacy programs. The talk highlighted the importance of faculty training, curriculum innovation, and global partnerships in shaping education. The meeting concluded with a mutual interest in strengthening collaboration between Chinese and Brazilian institutions in AI-driven education and talent development.
