Safe AI Forum Visits I-AIIG

On July 2, 2025, a delegation from the Safe AI Forum (SAIF), including AI policy researchers Saad Siddiqui and Isabella Duan, visited the Institute for AI International Governance of Tsinghua University (I-AIIG). Vice Dean Liang Zheng and I-AIIG researchers warmly welcomed the guests.


We are delighted to host Saad Siddiqui and Isabella Duan,said Vice Dean Liang Zheng in his welcome address. He provided an overview of I-AIIGs latest research in international AI governance, emphasizing that I-AIIG’s mission is grounded in open collaboration. We are committed to building an inclusive, international AI safety governance system and look forward to deepening partnerships with SAIF and similar organizations to meet shared global challenges posed by AI development,he added.


Siddiqui and Duan expressed appreciation for I-AIIG’s hospitality and discussed SAIFs efforts in shaping AI policy and promoting international dialogue. We are grateful for the warm reception and impressed by the advanced work being done at I-AIIG,” Siddiqui noted. SAIF is eager to explore joint initiatives in AI policy research and governance frameworks.


The two sides held in-depth discussions on several key initiatives, including preparations for the 2025 International Dialogues on AI Safety (IDAIS) and the prospects of co-hosting the event, potential collaboration within the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) framework, and planning for the International AI Cooperation and Governance Forum 2025 (IAICGF).
