On July 3, 2026, a delegation from Tsinghua University’s Institute for AI International Governance (I-AIIG) visited the Technical University of Munich (TUM) Global & Alumni Office. The delegation included Research Fellows Wang Jingyu, Song Yuxin, and Sheng Shuyang, as well as Foreign Affairs Assistant Chen Fan. The delegation met with Martina von Imhoff, Senior International Strategist for Asia at TUM Global & Alumni Office, to discuss AI governance, international cooperation, student exchange, and talent development.

Martina von Imhoff presented TUM’s international cooperation framework and its partnerships with universities in Asia. She highlighted TUM’s global partnership strategy, extensive international network, and student mobility programs. She also reaffirmed the university’s interest in strengthening cooperation with Tsinghua University in education, research, and academic exchange.

The I-AIIG delegation presented the institute’s work on AI governance and international collaboration. As a university-level research platform at Tsinghua University, I-AIIG focuses on AI governance, ethics, and policy research and engages with international organizations, universities, and policy communities. I-AIIG also hosts international forums and capacity-building programs to advance global dialogue on AI governance.
Both sides exchanged views on key topics, including AI governance frameworks, interdisciplinary education, and international academic cooperation. They also explored potential future collaboration through academic exchanges, joint activities, and youth engagement programs. Both parties emphasized integrating technological innovation with governance development and strengthening international collaboration to cultivate talent with technical expertise and global policy perspectives.
