On the morning of June 22, 2026, Mr. Reza Pirpiran and Mr. Mohsen Shariatinia, Counselors at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in China, visited the Institute for AI International Governance (I-AIIG) at Tsinghua University. The meeting was attended by Professor Xue Lan, Dean of I-AIIG; Professor Liang Zheng, Vice Dean; and members of I-AIIG’s research and international affairs teams.
Professor Xue Lan welcomed the Iranian delegation and offered an overview of I-AIIG’s mission, research activities, and international engagement.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed China’s experience in governance and modernization, development pathways, policy practices, scientific and technological innovation, talent cultivation, and the development and governance of AI. Professor Xue shared his perspectives on China’s efforts to promote socio-economic development, technological innovation, and the modernization of national governance.
