Dr. ZHOU Bowen, an IEEE Fellow and CAAI Fellow, is currently Chair Professor of Tsinghua University, Department of Electrical Engineering, and also the founder of Frontis.ai, an AI company that focuses on digitalization of product innovation processes for enterprises, centering around more effective interactions with and deeper understanding of their customers.
Previously Prof. ZHOU was a SVP of the e-commerce giant JD.Com, and the President of JD Cloud & AI BU, responsible for the P&L and leading the integrated team of thousands of scientists and engineers. Additionally, he was the Chairman of JD.Com’s Technology Committee,and the founding Director of JD AI Research, responsible for JD.Com’s technology strategies and roadmaps. Prior to that, he held various technology leadership and executive positions at IBM in New York, including as the Director of AI Foundations of IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, Chief Scientist of IBM Watson Group, and a Distinguished Engineer of IBM.
Prof. ZHOU had decades of experiences in research, development, application and commercialization of cutting-edge AI technologies, and he is a recipient of the prestigious Wu Wenjun Award for Outstanding Contributions in Artificial Intelligence. Prof.Zhou has published more than 100 papers at top international conferences and in top journals, cited over 13000 times by other researchers, and was granted dozens of domestic and international patents. He previously served as a member of the IEEE Speech and Language Technical Committee, an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Audio, Speech and Language.
